Foreign Languages
The foreign languages offered are – Ancient Greek, Arabic, Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latin, Portuguese, Persian, Russian and Spanish.
Indian Languages
The Indian languages offered are – Sanskrit, Urdu, Bengali, Hindi and Tamil.
The popularity of the courses is evident by the growing number of students that enroll every year. During the academic year 2014-15 the total number of enrollment was 22,068.
The study of the Tibetan language is important for students of Buddhist Studies, as it is the language of the Buddhist canon in Tibet and in the Himalayan regions.
As per the Memorandum of Association, the major objectives of the Central Sanskrit University are to propagate, develop and encourage Sanskrit learning and research.
