Course Overview

This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a boom-type Elevating Work Platform (EWP) where the length of a boom is 11 meters or more in accordance with the relevant legislative requirements.

Boom-type elevating work platform means a telescoping device, hinged device, or articulated device, or any combination of these used to support a platform on which personnel, equipment and material may be elevated.

Mine Training Australia is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 51586) and a WorkSafe-approved High Risk Training Organisation. We will submit all new or additional High Risk Work Licences for individuals who have completed the training and have been deemed competent.

All of Mine Training Australia’s Training courses are nationally accredited and are in accordance with the National Standard for Licensing Persons Performing High-Risk Work (WorkSafe Approved).

 

Entry Requirements

  • A moderate English language, literacy and numeracy skill is required.

  • Participants must be over eighteen (18) years of age of age.

 

Participants must wear the following PPE to commence the training:

  • long sleeved shirt (preferably high vis)

  • long pants

  • steel capped boots required

Safety glasses, gloves and hard hat will be provided however you are encouraged to bring your own..
