This position replaces the TC position and again is assessed with unit standards 31959 Theory and 39560 practical.

Once qualified this person will be able to setup and look after shoulder (off lane) and footpath traffic control only. The TMQ can also be a site minder for on lane traffic control while the STMS is off site for short periods of time. (inspections or break periods)

The STMS Universal Two Day Workshop is for any person who wants to be an onsite STMS on a category A, B, and/or C road environment or in a mobile operation, Traffic Operations Manager, TTM Mentor, TTM Assessor, or TTM Trainer, TTM Planner, TMP Approver, TTM Audiotr, Traffic Management Co-ordinator.
This workshop covers safe working practices, standards and operating conditions for Level Low Volume (LV) and Level One (L1) road work sites, as required by the New Zealand Transport Agency’s Code of Practice for Temporary Traffic Management (COPTTM).
TTM Worker is the new entry level training for people joining the TTM industry. Temporary traffic management (TTM) Worker Workshop is for workers who assist with TTM under direction, such as by the Site Traffic Manager (STMS).
This two-day STMS Level 1 course is for anyone with a basic Traffic Control (TC) qualification who is looking to take the lead role for traffic management on their work site.
Traffic control courses form part of the overall traffic management courses Nz syllabus in NZ. Once you have achieved this course you can progress on to others such as STMS training.
