Toe Up Sock Class

Description

Toe up socks are widely preferred by sock knitters because they fit better, and there is no grafting required!

However, to a newer sock knitter, toe up socks can be a bit of a mystery. This 3-session class is geared to walk you through the construction of 1 basic toe up sock. Topics will include provisional cast on method, toe construction methods, heel construction methods, calculating for the length of the sock foot, and stretchy bind off techniques.

Class fee will include 2 skeins of yarn. Class participants will be required to bring or purchase double point needles (DPNs), 2 circular needles, or 1 long circular needle for magic loop method. Recommended needle size is US 5 (3.75mm). Class participants will need to bring stich markers, sock rulers, gauge ruler, and darning needle. It is recommended class participants purchase the book “Socks from the Toe Up” by Wendy D.
