Students will receive training on how to successfully negotiate the format, content areas and experience of taking the TOEFL Test. Students will focus on the core skills for the exams, including listening, speaking, vocabulary development, reading and essay writing.

Students will also learn general test-taking strategies applicable to a wide range of exams at the university level.
Practice tests and sample questions will give students insight into their strengths and weaknesses and instructors will provide feedback and strategies for improvement.
A minimum of 24 hours of out-of-class work will be required for this course and may include vocabulary study, memorization and practice, assigned readings, sentence, paragraph or essay writing, grammar assignments, textbook or handout exercises and other practical English usage exercises.

The TOEFL test preparation course is for students who are determined to have advanced skills based on Excel’s placement exam.

MLI’s TOEFL program is an intensive look at the skills and strategies necessary to achieve a successful score on the four sections of the Internet-Based Test (iBT).
The program is designed with TOEFL preparation core courses offered in the morning and workshop courses in the afternoon.
