DurationThe TCT course is an introduction to temporary traffic control in work zones for individuals who work in the field installing and removing traffic control devices. This 8-hour course provides the student with the practical knowledge that a Traffic Control Technician needs to properly install and maintain a work zone traffic control system.
The student will be instructed when to make traffic control system adjustments and when to reject substandard materials. Although this is not a personal safety course, doing traffic control safely is emphasized.

In this course, we teach the OSHA standards for developing and using a site plan that provides traffic flow details. As well as the directives for limiting access, placing barricades, setting up controlled access zones and signage requirements.Â
The Florida Department of Transportation’s Advanced Maintenance of Traffic / Temporary Traffic Control Certification class is a 20 hour class held over two and a half days.
Traffic Control training is offered by RMS Safety Management. Our instructors are highly skilled presenters and our training facility includes a hands-on training area.Â
This course is approved by the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security for use by courts that adjudicate traffic citations, and by the Tennessee Department of Safety Financial Responsibility for point reduction.
