Course Details

Traffic Control training course is delivered and certificates are issued by Edway Training (RTO No 91401). Edway Training is approved by the Australian Skills and Quality Authority (ASQA) to deliver this training course.

Traffic Control training course does not provide Traffic Management qualification. To obtain a Traffic Management qualification, a person is required to complete Traffic Management training to receive the ‘Implement Traffic Management Plan RIIWHS302D’’ qualification. Traffic Control Course Information

  • Traffic Control training is mandatory training required for all persons involved in controlling traffic using a stop-slow bat.

  • VIC Roads training requirements are:

    • before undertaking the tasks of a Traffic Controller on a public road, a person must successfully complete Control Traffic with Stop-Slow Bat RIIWHS205E training course

    • a valid Traffic Controller’s Statement of Attainment must be carried at all times when operating as a Traffic Controller and upon request must be presented to any Police officer, WorkSafe office, VicRoads officer, Municipal Council Authorised Officer or other person-in-charge of a worksite or their delegate

    • a person should attend Control Traffic with Stop-Slow Bat RIIWHS205E refresher course every three years

  • Traffic Control training course does not provide Traffic Management qualification. To obtain a Traffic Management qualification, a person is required to complete Traffic Management training to receive ‘Implement Traffic Management Plans RIIWHS302R’ qualification. What you will receive

Upon successful completion of the course, on the day of training, participants will receive:

  • Statement of Attainment

  • Plastic card issued by Edway Training

 

What you will learn

The course covers topics such as plan and prepare, control traffic, operate communication devices and clean up. The class consists of Powerpoint presentation, videos, practical activities and end of the day practical and theory assessments

 

Regionally accepted

Edway VIC issued plastic white cards are regionally accepted all across Victoria. Statement of Attainment is nationally recognised. However, additional training might be required to perform Traffic Controller duties in different states. Please refer to the local authorities for more information.
