This course is a two-day standardized course for Traffic Control Persons (TCPs) consists of classroom and practical training and is the only program of its kind accepted by WorkSafeBC under Section 18 of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation for high-risk traffic control.
This program is designed to teach participants the methods necessary to development an effective traffic control program in order to protect both workers and general vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
A Flagger, or Traffic Control Person (TCP), is responsible to provide safe traffic control for motorists, pedestrians, and workers.
Traffic control is used to regulates the flow of traffic to protect construction workers and the motoring public, stop traffic when necessary, and allow construction to proceed safely and effectively.
Traffic control persons (TCPs) must be given written and oral instructions regarding their duties. Section 69(4) of the construction regulation should have the rules outlined.
