Both workers and the general public rely on traffic control persons to create a controlled, efficient zone for them to travel through or work in. All traffic control persons employed in Newfoundland and Labrador are required to complete this course approved by WorkplaceNL

What We Do
REL offers a wide variety of training and competency courses, prepared to give you the skills you need to succeed. Our staff consists of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (CRSPs), Safety Engineering Technologists (SETs) and Certified Industrial Hygienists (CIHs). This course teaches participants how to develop an effective traffic control plan. Participants learn how to recognize, evaluate and control hazards related to road construction.
If you have a construction or maintenance project that takes place on or near a roadway, you will likely find that traffic control will be necessary at certain points during the project.
Traffic control persons (TCPs) must be given written and oral instructions regarding their duties. Section 69(4) of the construction regulation should have the rules outlined.
This course is developed as an enhancement to the Traffic Control Person (TCP) Level 1 course to reflect the duties and responsibilities for First Responders when tasked with traffic control management on emergency scenes.
