Basic & advanced traffic control skills
Language
English (good command of spoken and written English is required)
It is recommended that participants registering have an English Level greater than or equivalent to Grade 10 English (British Columbia School System)
Translators are not permitted
Course Requirements
TCPs should be physically and mentally prepared to do the required work, and should exhibit these characteristics:
good vision
good hearing
alertness and mature judgment
intelligence and common sense
pleasant, cooperative disposition
sense of responsibility for the safety of workers and the public
What to Bring
Photo identification
CSA approved steel-toed boots with a minimum 6-inch ankle protection
High Visible Vest (Must be Class 2)
Clothing to protect you from the weather
Work gloves are recommended
Pen and highlighter
Certificate
To successfully complete the course, the participant must pass both the open book written exam (40 multiple choice & True/False questions) with a minimum of 80% & the practical evaluation with 100%.
Upon successful completion of the exam, you will be issued a temporary certificate by the invigilator, which is valid for 3 months from date of issue.
The temporary certificate will be followed within 6-8 weeks by a new permanent photo ID card. Records of completion are provided by the BCCSA and are valid for 3 years.
