Day 1 of the course covers how to help groups and individuals learn and the techniques of instruction and presenting. Participants will learn how to design interactive group learning sessions, they will have an opportunity to understand their learning styles and preferences and those of others.

At the end of day 1 they will plan an interactive session they will deliver on day 2.
Day 2 of the course is spent in practical application of what they have learnt in delivering an interactive group session on a scouting topic. Each participant will receive personal feedback on their session.

Self assessment of your competency
Team roles and types, team stages and facilitation styles. Motivation
Learning, styles, preferences, the VAK attack, multiple intelligences, mind mapping.
Communication, aural, visual, body language, posture, choice of language, impact of words
Problem solving; four stages. Objective writing, lesson plans, Socratic approach
Practical in day 1 and 2
On day 1 deliver a short presentation on a scouting topic. Your presentation will be videoed and feedback given. You will be given a copy of the video.
On day 2 deliver a 15 minute lesson with interaction on a scouting topic agreed beforehand with the course director chosen from a list provided before the weekend. Some preparation of content and information will be required before the weekend but some may be needed on Saturday evening.
The course requires some initial self study as well as preparation time.

Surrey Scouts consists of 13,657 young people between the ages of 6-25, assisted by 3,423 adult volunteers across 176 Scout Groups!
Scouting is the UK’s biggest mixed youth organisation. It offers 6 to 25-year-olds fun and challenging activities, unique experiences, everyday adventure and the chance to help others so that we make a positive impact in communities.
Surrey Scouts is made up of 18 Districts covering the entire County of Surrey. Each District has many Scout Groups made up of Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts and Scouts. In each District there are Explorers Scouts who will either be run as units for the whole District or they might be associated with an individual Group. There will also be a Scout Network for the older young people.
For Adults, each District has a Scout Active Support Unit who help develop and support Scouting in the area. This section is open to all adults who have a bit of time to help their local community even if they cannot commit to being a leader at a Group.
The County offers a hugely diverse range of activities from archery to zorbing and everything in between; there are very few adventurous activities that Scouts are not allowed to do! We offer a progressive training scheme which helps young people develop themselves and which works in tandem with the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme to produce awards which are recognised by Employers and Colleges.
This 2 day course is designed to help those who are new to delivering IT training. Additionally, any IT trainer looking for a structured, yet flexible approach to IT training.
To equip delegates with the knowledge and skills to deliver structured training in the work place. Enable the delegates to understand the role of the trainer.
Day one consists of candidates being taken through the course material by a qualified ergonomist. Day 2 consists of the ergonomist assessing each of the candidate’s abilities to host the course.
This is an intensive two-day course in which your participation is expected in order to achieve the objectives. It is also a very active course which is designed to develop your teaching and training skills in a fun and supportive environment.
To enable delegates to be able to assess and respond promptly, safely and effectively to a recent spillage event and take appropriate action to protect human health and the environment utilising suitable equipment and techniques to mitigate damage.
