Overview
The program is an efficient amalgamation of the Fire Warden: Operate as Part of an Emergency Control Organisation and the Confine small emergencies in a facility program. Hence, it is called the Combined Fire Warden & Fire Extinguisher program.
It is designed keeping in mind the learning needs of individuals who are mandated to execute immediate emergency responses under the guidelines applicable to the Emergency Control Organization (ECO) structure.
The learners going through this program will have the opportunity to fully experience and learn about the hierarchical structure specified under the ECO mandate.
This includes the entire lifecycle of pre-planned emergency responses, apt actions for unforeseeable emergencies, and complete assistance in post-emergency situations.
The program will instil and sharpen the skills necessary for first attack firefighting. This would be of tremendous help for individuals mandated to respond to relatively more minor but considerable emergencies in their respective work areas.
The skills commonly associated with graduation from this program include emergency preparation, comprehensive emergency assessment, safe confinement during emergencies, and correctly using initial response procedures & equipment and delivering an accessible report detailing the emergency response at the facility.
Relatively more minor emergencies at areas of work tend to include:
Small fires can be mitigated with a fire extinguisher.
Chemical spillage can be adequately contained with protective clothing for personnel and a spill kit.
An accident involving a vehicle where no incumbent or affected individual witnesses a severe threat to life, health, or property.
The program has been carefully aligned with the Australian Standard 3745 and 4083, encompassing all the necessary modules required to train employees engaged in various work industries.
