Participants are taught from OSHA’s excavation standard (29 CFR 1926-Subpart P) which requires workers in trenches and excavations to be protected. Can-ins are perhaps the most feared trenching hazard; but other potentially fatal hazards exist, including asphyxiation, toxic fumes, drowning, electrocution and explosions.
Protection from the many hazards associated with trenching and excavation is achieved through knowledge of the environment, technical mastery of support systems, hazard awareness and proper application.
Each participant will receive a manual. Upon successful completion participants will receive a Competent Person Trenching and Excavating Certification Card.

Excavation Safety Training is offered by WTSTC. The content of our training courses and mode of delivery is approved by the WTSTC Steering Committee. WTSTC has a full-time training and administrative staff. All training is documented, and records are maintained in a secure database.
Excavation training is offered by The Training Zone of DMV. Training Zone Of The DMV top instructor-led course providers around, attendees will walk away with a true educational experience.
The Excavation, Trenching, and Soil Mechanics course covers the OSHA Excavation Standard and safety and health aspects of excavation and trenching.

This program has been developed to help employers meet the OSHA training requirements for a "Competent Person". This course consists of classroom study (course manual provided), "hands-on" demonstration of study material, OSHA Subpart P 1926.650 review (OSHA Regulations provided).
