Domenic’s Music, a family-owned and operated business, has been serving the Ottawa area for over 50 years. In 1953, along with many other Italians, Domenic Cinanni moved to Ottawa to start a new life. Although he could not yet speak English or French, Domenic knew the language of music.
As an accomplished accordion player, he was soon in high demand for parties and weddings. At the same time, he began teaching accordion from his basement alongside his brother, who played and taught guitar lessons
In 2013, with the exponential growth of EDM and electronic music, Domenic’s Music started offering beat-making, production, and recording classes to teach students how to create music with new technologies and further their understanding of the evolution of music.
Juan defined the studio as “a family environment where you feel welcome when you come in. Our focus on customer service and education has been the same.” As Domenic’s Music takes the leap into online classes, he aims to continue building and supporting the community.
As with many local businesses, 2020 was a pivotal year for Domenic’s Music. In response to the pandemic, the music school and store has moved entirely online. This new platform keeps the community connected, and you are now able to take music lessons and purchase supplies from the comfort of your own home.
The school always seeks to expose its students to an array of musical stylings. Training for auditions is also available.
At the Canada Music Academy, our goal is to make music lessons fun and exhilarating for our students, while still providing a structured learning approach that's necessary to achieve tangible results and help our students realize their musical dreams.
Our private private instrument lessons are 30, 45 or 60 minutes per week (the duration is determined according to the level of the student)
