Parents are invited to contribute to the governance of Saturday Music Charitable trust by serving as an appointed Trustee or as a co-opted Parent Representative.
Parent Representatives must have a child enrolled in Saturday Music as a condition of acting in this role. Both roles are necessary for the continuing function of the Board.
Saturday Music Charitable Trust (Inc) is a registered charity (CC29243) and is supported by the Primary School Out-of-Hours Music Scheme of the Ministry of Education. It is administered by a Trust Board and is hosted by Palmerston North Intermediate Normal School, operating under the regulations of the Ministry of Education.
The aims of Saturday Music are to:
The school provides Ministry of Education subsidised group music lessons for primary and intermediate age school students
Level 1 Trumpet and Level 1+ Trombone are combined in the same class with a teacher.
We provide group lessons to children 5-12 years of age and private tuition for the advancing student 13 years and older.
The trumpet or cornet are great beginner instruments, particularly for those with a general love of music as they are extremely versatile.
