Veterinary Nurse Training course is offered by Blythman Veterinary Practices

Blythman & Partners Ltd prides itself in being an approved Training Practice for Veterinary Nurses, with multiple training sites. The Practice provides our student nurses with the ‘hands on experience’ and mentoring, required to complete their Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing.

Student nurses also spend time in a classroom as part of a block release placement at  college, balancing their academic studies with invaluable experience gained whilst working in full time employment.

We would recommend anyone interested in becoming a Veterinary Nurse, look for work experience,  auxiliary nurse or Veterinary care assistant positions first.

That way you can experience what day-to-day life is like, gaining a good understanding of what they do and what it takes to be a Veterinary Nurse. Our Nurses form just one part of the Veterinary Team which is crucial in providing the veterinary care an animal needs,  as well as supporting pet owners and giving advice.

Our auxiliary nurses are usually employed with us for a minimum of a year before they are offered a Student Nurse position. This is to allow time to not only gain important experience but, learn what is required from the role and whether you are suited to becoming a Veterinary Nurse, before embarking on the course.

Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing takes around two years to complete. The minimum entry requirements are usually 5 GCSEs with grades C or 4 and above and must include English, Maths and a Science subject.

A career as a Registered Veterinary Nurse whilst rewarding can be challenging, involving lots of hard work. If you think you have what it takes to become a Veterinary Nurse,
