We provide regular opportunities each year for the students to perform and showcase their abilities. We invite friends and family to a professional venue so students can perform in front of hundreds of people (if they want too of course).
Shades Music shop, repair and tuition centre, was opened by Christopher Poole on the 1st December 2007.
Shades have 100’s of regular customers and helping over 250 students per week, achieve their goals!
We also sell beginner and intermediate instruments as well as all accessories and offer a full repair centre for Woodwind, guitars, ukuleles and bass.
Shop opening times are from 14:00 – 20:00 Monday – Friday and 9:30 until 17:30 on Saturdays.

We encourage our students to take regular graded exams (entirely optional). These are fully accredited to be equivalent to low grade GCSEs at the lower end, all the way up to A-level and UCAS points in the upper grades, or simply play for FUN.
Our singing lessons are designed to help students develop an understanding of a good breathing technique and various ways in which our breath, voice box its accompanying muscular structures can be manipulated to create different tones and vocal qualities.
We offer private singing lessons in Southampton, Hampshire and surrounding areas for mixed ages and abilities. Our expert Music Maestros have many years of experience helping beginners, intermediates and advanced singers improve their technique and performance.
Singing classes are offered by City Sound Studios. With a team of professional and dedicated tutors offering one-to-one and group lessons in Singing.... The studio is the perfect place to learn music!
Vocal training is of vital importance and is an essential part of the Academy. Specialist tutors work individually and in groups with students of all abilities.
All lessons are tailored to the student taking aspects and influences from classical, Jazz, Theatre and modern songs. Lessons start with vocal warm ups moving on to technical exercises and finishing with your favourite song.
