What Are Adult Lessons Like?

At Highland Music Studio, our adult students:

  • Begin learning the foundations of music (steady beat, rhythm, note reading) from day 1 so they are prepared to learn any musical genre they desire.
  • Reap the benefits that music lessons provide as proven by science (lowers stress, raises IQ, provides a creative outlet, delays the effects of aging – to name a few!)
  • Learn music in a comfortable environment, geared towards their specific musical interests and goals.
  • Are guided so that they are able to productively practice their music at home.

Music classes and lessons for all ages, infants-adults. Located in the Virginia-Highland neighborhood of Atlanta, GA.

We are a team that strives to inspire a lifelong love of music in every student that comes through our doors.

Every week in our music classes at Highland Music Studio, babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and the grownups who love them come together to play musically. Little ones love playing along in class, and caregivers love being a part of their children’s growth into confident music-makers.

And everyone loves our songs that’ll have you tapping along in no time. Music Together is the perfect family activity in Atlanta!

  • Originally from Northampton, MA, Julia graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 2019 with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and a minor in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. While at UMass, Julia performed roles in multiple operas, including Hansel in Hansel and Gretel, and served as the Teaching Assistant for freshmen courses in ear training and sight singing. After graduating, Julia began a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. While at UW Madison, Julia taught private voice lessons, served as the Teaching Assistant for freshmen courses in Music Theory and Aural Skills, and sang the roles of Dorabella in Così fan tutte and Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Julia finished her MM degree in May 2021 and moved to Atlanta immediately afterward. As a teacher, Julia strives to inspire joy and love of music and singing in a stress-free environment. She believes that music can be transformative for people of all ages when they are given the freedom to be creative and express their authentic selves. Julia specializes in classical and musical theater singing but loves exploring all styles of music. In addition to teaching voice and piano, Julia is a preschool teacher and cat lover.
