We offer singing for all ages. Our youngest students (ages 3-6) develop their singing voices in our Young Child classes. For ages 7-14, we offer Intro to Singing, and Group Voice Lessons that introduce technique, repertoire and performance in a fun and encouraging group environment. School-age students (11 and up), teens, and adults can take a private weekly lesson. We also have specialized 8-week workshops for ages 10 and up: Broadway Basics, and See It, Sing It.
Intro to Singing, Group Voice, workshops, and private voice lessons are currently being held online.
Private Voice Lessons:
Private voice lessons are available for ages 11 through adult. Children under 10 are considered on a case by case basis after an evaluation. Voice lessons for younger students consist primarily of building confidence and performance skills, teaching repertoire, and beginning to sight sing.
For the younger age group we highly recommend a 45- or 60-minute voice/piano or voice/ukulele combo lesson so the student can learn to play an instrument while they sing.
For teens and adults, lessons emphasize breath control, vocal technique, and a varied repertoire that includes classical, musical theater, folk, jazz, and popular. Teachers encourage performance in both Musical Beginnings recitals and school or community performances.
Intermediate and advanced students have the opportunity to participate in local and national vocal adjudications to gain outside feedback and experience a variety of performance situations.
We’re currently offering both in-person and online private lessons. Please contact me if you’d like to discuss getting started with piano, guitar, bass, violin, drums, or voice. (Voice and violin are currently only online.) All staff are vaccinated and well-masked and the lesson rooms are large and well-ventilated.
Our Young Child classes are primarily outside right now but I hope to be moving back to our inside/outside hybrid before too long. If there’s a class you’re interested in you can register here or email me with any questions.
Classes have small groups, distance, masks, clean instruments, and plenty of ventilation when indoors. Adults who participate in the Music and Me classes must be vaccinated and wear a medical-grade or double mask.
We provide individual training to help you develop confidence in your abilities and improve your technique and performance in a variety of musical styles including pop, rock, jazz, and theater. With the knowledge of our experienced trainers, these classes can help you achieve your goals as a singer
