In class, students will learn the history and foundations of Waacking. The focus will be on drills, character, musicality, and freely exploring movements.
Waacking (also known as Whacking or Wacking) is a form of dance created in the 2SLGBTQ+ clubs of Los Angeles during the 1970s disco era. The style is typically done to 70s disco music and is mainly distinguishable by its rotational arm movements, posing and emphasis on expressiveness.
In class, students will learn the history and foundations of Waacking. The focus will be on drills, character, musicality, and freely exploring movements.
