This course provides participants with knowledge and skills to prepare to work safely in the construction industry.
Overview
White Card is a mandatory work health and safety training requirement for anyone who intends to work in the construction industry or enter an active work site in the infrastructure, resources and construction industries.
Those working in ‘construction’ trade positions whether full-time or contracting are required to hold a White Card and have it in their possession while on site.
This White Card course includes the theoretical and practical components on how to keep yourself and others safe while working on a construction site, and completion of this course is a pre-requisite to receiving a White Card (also known as General Construction Induction Card or a Construction Induction Card depending on your state or territory).
Participants will gain the following skills and knowledge:
Common hazards
Roles, responsibilities and obligations
Safe work practices
Risk management principles
Safety signage
Personal protective equipment
Legislative requirements
Training and assessment must be conducted face-to-face* at Site Skills Training facilities. Upon arrangement, training and assessment can be conducted at the premises of industry clients providing there are suitable industry training facilities and must be conducted via face-to-face delivery.

Learners will understand how to identify industry requirements, plan and prepare for working in a confined space. Additionally, learners will be able to work safely inside a confined space and then exit safely, including cleaning up their work area when the tasks are completed.
It applies to situations where an individual may be required to carry out gas testing of an atmosphere before entering a specific area or workspace. The competency requires the person to interpret readings and take actions based on the interpretation.
This course describes the skills and knowledge required Gas test atmospheres equipment in an irrespirable atmosphere, as defined by the Australian Standard.
Manual Handling training through this Nationally Recognised Training course will teach you how to safely identify, plan and perform manual handling tasks to maintain an injury-free workplace.
