WHMIS stands for the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System. It is a comprehensive system for providing health and safety information on hazardous products intended for use, handling, or storage in Canadian workplaces.
Our NEW Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS & GHS 2015) course is tailored to those who may become exposed to hazardous materials at work.
Workplace Safety and Health regulations require that workers be informed about the hazards of controlled products used within their workplace. On an annual basis, workers must receive the appropriate WHMIS training to enable them to work safely.
This half-day classroom course reviews the specific requirements for hazard identification and product classification in every workplace that uses, handles, stores or disposes of hazardous materials.
Upon the successful completion of this safety training program, participants will understand: The legislative requirements (Government Regulations and CSA Standards); The duties and responsibilities of all workplace stakeholders; WHMIS exemptions; WHMIS categories;
