About Us
In 1995, Guelph was lacking a business whose sole purpose was to provide safety to the people of Guelph and surrounding area so Kevin Gortmaker, his father Karl and sister Loretta embarked on a journey and created Probuy Safety Solutions.
Probuy became one of the first online e-commerce safety companies in the late 1990's. They were overwhelmed when frantic Americans called wanting to protect themselves and their families from biological warfare following the tragic events of 9/11.
Soon after the dust from 9/11 settled, calls again came pouring in due to the fear from SARS. Here they are again keeping people safe from the latest threat of Covid-19. They are passionate about keeping their customers safe on the job and at home. With their motto being “Safety is all we do” they now carry or have access to thousands of safety products.
Upon the successful completion of this safety training program, participants will understand: The legislative requirements (Government Regulations and CSA Standards); The duties and responsibilities of all workplace stakeholders; WHMIS exemptions; WHMIS categories;
This half-day classroom course reviews the specific requirements for hazard identification and product classification in every workplace that uses, handles, stores or disposes of hazardous materials.
The goal of this training is to update employees on the new WHMIS regulations and the resulting transitional period. It includes an overview of the pictograms, labels, safety data sheets and product storage.
WHMIS is an active learning experience, using content and exercises to engage learners and reinforce key concepts. Mandatory testing ensures that participants have met learning objectives and retained the required knowledge.
