Workers exposed to hazardous products, as defined under WHMIS Legislation, may be at risk for a number of serious health effects ranging from kidney and lung damage to allergic reactions, burns, cancer and even death.
The Hazardous Materials Information System, known as WHMIS, came into effect in Ontario in 1988. It sets out certain duties and obligations for suppliers, employers and workers on the safe use, storage, disposal and transportation of all hazardous materials used in the workplace.
Participants must complete and pass this course to receive their record of training (ROT).
