Enjoy using our Artisan Wood Burning Oven – but since we’re assuming you don’t have one like it at home we’re also going to show you how to cook off your pizza in the oven as well as on the grill.
You’ll have the chance to make your own dough as well as a classic sauce and some modern interpretations. Not enough? How about Mozzarella from scratch? We thought you’d like that.
The Professional Culinary Program is designed to enhance the amount of time you spend in the kitchen rather than behind a desk. From day-one to graduation you could be working in the field within a year. Based on French & Italian classic fundamentals, you will learn everything you need to jump-start your career.
In this interactive class, you will learn how to make pizza dough from scratch and build your own pizza using various toppings. While the dough is resting, we will make chopped salad to enjoy with the pizza. Participants will learn how to read a recipe, weigh ingredients, and mix/knead the dough.
There are many types of pizza. In this class everyone will make two different doughs; one to make a traditional Chicago style deep dish pizza and the other to make a flat bread pizza and even a dessert pizza.
Our 18th Street Kitchen plays nightly host to hands-on cooking classes, cheesemaking and fermentation workshops, dinners with farmers and brewers, wine seminars... anything to help our community become more excited about cooking and eating great food.
Pizza Class is offered by Omega Artisan Baking. Whether you are a beginner, terrified of yeast (fermentumphobic?) or an accomplished home baker wanting to move on to more complicated recipes using pre-ferments, there is a class for you.
Slice, Slice, Baby – That’s right, in this class you’ll get down right jiggy with all thing’s pizza. From crust to toppings, we’ll teach you the art of creating something takeout worthy…but there will be no take out necessary!
