This unit provides the skills and knowledge required to work safely as an observer/spotter in civil construction. This includes identifying and managing worksite hazards, establishing exclusion zones, and observing work activities to monitor the safety of the work environment.

It applies to those working in operational roles who generally work under supervision to undertake a prescribed range of functions involving maintaining a duty of care, and known policies and procedures.
Participants Must:
Be at least 18 years of age;
Have completed Year 10 in the Australian school system or equivalent;
Have language, literacy, and numeracy skills equivalent to ASCF Level 2;
Provision of the participant’s Unique Student Identifier (USI)
Provision of Australian legal photo identification for assessment purposes
