Focusing on current OSHA and ANSI requirements, this course will provide the knowledge and skills for establishing or improving a worksite’s comprehensive fall protection program.
Trained as Competent Persons for Fall Protection, participants will receive practical experience in recognizing fall hazards and developing appropriate measures for reducing or eliminating these hazards.
Detailed preplan forms will be used to guide participants through the process of evaluation and preparing for fall hazards in the workplace. This will include Roco’s “Fall Hazard Survey,” which identifies fall hazards and uses the “hierarchy of fall protection” to provide the most protective and feasible solutions.
Roco’s “Suspended Worker Rescue Preplan” will be covered in a live field exercise as well as demonstrations and practice rescues utilizing pre-engineered rescue systems.
Participants will be exposed to a variety of modern fall protection equipment and receive guidance in selecting the proper equipment for greatest safety and efficiency.
Roco Rescue is extremely proud to be a VPP Star Worksite, a designation we have held since 2013. The Star Award is the highest level within OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program, and it is considered one of the nation’s top workplace safety awards.
In order to earn this distinction, we implemented a comprehensive safety program and underwent a rigorous onsite evaluation by a team of OSHA safety and health experts.
The “Star” designation is reserved for companies that demonstrate exemplary achievement in the prevention and control of occupational safety and health hazards, as well as the development, implementation and continuous improvement of safety and health management systems.
We have maintained our status as a VPP Star Worksite by passing periodic onsite audits conducted by a team of OSHA inspectors, once again validating that we are living up to the highest standards of OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program.
Safety is deeply ingrained in our culture, and it is important to us that we practice what we preach. Roco Rescue is, after all, a safety and rescue services company, and our motto is, There’s a safe a way, and a safer way.
The process of earning and renewing our VPP Star is an important way for us to get external feedback and confirm that we are “walking the walk” as an organization. We were the first rescue training, services and equipment company to earn a VPP Star.
