What Is Defined As Work At Heights?

The Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011, Section 78 states; “The PCBU at a workplace, must manage risks to health and safety associated with a fall by a person from one level to another that is reasonably likely to cause injury to the person or any other person.”

However, the Queensland Coal Mining Safety and Health Regulation 2017, Section 92 states;

  • A coal mine’s safety and health management system must provide for controlling risk associated with working at heights at the mine.

  • If a person is required to work at a height greater than 2.4m, the system must provide for minimising the person’s risk of injury from falling

What Does This Mean?

Industry regulators regulate Work at Heights differently for different industries.  If you want to know more, book into one of our working at heights courses today.

Our Work at Heights Course Brisbane supports compliance with the Work Health and Safety legislation and the Coal Mining Safety and Health legislation, however licensing, legislative, regulatory and certification requirements that apply to this unit can vary between states, territories, sites and Industry sectors.
