Course Details

All persons on a construction site must complete WHS induction training before they are present on a construction site. In the ACT this course must be done face to face and not online. 

The purpose of this requirement is to provide persons working in the construction industry with a basic knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety legislative requirements, the principles of risk management and the prevention of injury and illness in the construction industry.

 

Completion: 

On successful completion of the course students will be issued with a Statement of Attainment.

 

Application For White Card

ASEC issues you the Statement of Attainment to then apply for the White Card.

The actual White Card is applied for through Access Canberra.  There is an additional cost involved.  General Construction Induction Card (White Card) (act.gov.au)

An application for a Construction Induction Card can be made to Access Canberra online or by visiting a shop front and by paying the fee.

The application must be accompanied by the statement of attainment for construction induction training issued on successful completion of course.

An individual has a period of 60 days from receipt of Statement of Attainment to apply for a white card.  Should you apply for your White Card more than 60 days after your certificate is issued you will need to undertake the course again. 

Two types of identification will be required at time of application, one current & photographic (e.g. licence, student ID card), the other could be Medicare card, passport or birth certificate.
