This course is only available for operators who can provide verifiable evidence of operational experience. Current WZTM operators are required to complete this Refresher course in order to maintain their accreditation to conduct WZTM in SA.
This Refresher course must be completed every three years. Your WZTM card must be current at the time you start your course. If your card has expired, you must complete the 2 day WZTM course.
All Learners must complete a “Record of Training” form detailing previous operational experience and training. Registration for this course cannot be confirmed without this information.
Learners must:
Be able to read, write, speak and understand English
Be able to carry out basic mathematical calculations
Hold a current WZTM Card
Course Prerequisite
All Learners must complete a practical “Challenge Test” at the start of the course to demonstrate operational experience. (Unsuccessful candidates will be advised to enrol into the 2 day Training and Assessment Course - further charges will apply
Interstate Bridging Course
This course also covers the requirements of a Bridging Course for experienced operators from other regulatory jurisdictions to enable them to be accredited within South Australia and to ensure they are compliant with the different WZTM rules and conditions applied across South Australia.
Note: Interstate operators MUST hold the current WZTM units (RIIWHS205E / RIIWHS302E) to complete this course

Course Outcome and Award
On successful completion learners will be issued with

Competency Card issued by DIT (Department of Infrastructure and Transport)

This Course provides you with the skills and knowledge to work as a Traffic Controller using a stop/slow bat or similar device.Â
You are required to complete an Assessment at a Live Project after your Traffic Control work Training (TCWT) to satisfy the Assessment Requirement for your Safework NSW Traffic Controller and / or Implement Traffic Control Plan Card/s.
On successful completion of this course trainees in the resources and infrastructure industries will be able to demonstrate the correct method for installation
