Working at Height remains one of the highest risk activities and forms of fatalities in the workplace today. This in-depth course focuses on the reasons behind this and looks at how workplaces can improve their methods of working.

This two-day course aims to be practical in its approach and in its application. It includes classroom worked assessments and (In-House Course Only) an actual assessment carried out in the client's working environment. Our Working at Height course formed part of our original course suite that ran as part the IOSH Continuous Professional Development course program and was IOSH Approved for over 10 years.

This course has been a popular choice within many different organisations including the BBC and a large number of Councils but is suitable to anybody with Working at Height responsibilities.

Course Outline

This Working at Height Risk Assessment and Management course is designed to provide participants with the tools to successfully create a risk management programme to handle the risks associated with working at height.

The 2-day programme places a primary focus on the various health & safety standards and regulations that exist to govern how organisations should manage working at height risks. Once delegates have a sound foundational knowledge of the relevant legislation, the course proceeds to help them develop more practical skills in:

  • recognising levels of risk

  • choosing work methods and equipment based on protection factors

  • integrating working at height risk assessments into a wider risk management system

  • understanding and choosing between available control measures

Who is the course aimed at?

This Working at Height Risk Assessment and Management course is suitable for: health & safety professionals who must advise on equipment selection and methods for working at height managers responsible for site conditions and security engineers in charge of planning tasks with significant height-related risks A basic knowledge of risk assessment techniques and construction engineering operations is an advantage but is not essential.

Qualification

Successful completion of this course results in the delegate gaining an ISAC Certificate in Working at Height Risk Assessment and Management. In addition, this course can also result in CPD hours towards maintaining your membership at your professional institute.
