Course Details

Working at Heights training is mandatory in Ontario for workers on construction or industrial projects who use any of the following methods of fall protection: travel restraint systems, fall restricting systems, fall arrest systems, safety nets and work belts or safety belts.

Our Working at Heights program will provide participants with an understanding of their responsibilities when working in areas where fall hazards exist. Participants will understand the elimination of fall hazards following the ‘hierarchy of controls’ method.

Additionally, participants will be provided the knowledge on effective selection, use and care of fall protection equipment and understand when and how it is required.

This one-day course will also provide the proper utilization and inspection of the required equipment and the critical controls necessary to reduce the risk of a fall.

Upon successful completion, participants will understand the laws and regulations under the new Working at Heights standards and a certificate will be issued.

 

Modules:

  • Fall Restraint, Fall Arrest Systems, Bump Lines, Guardrail Systems, Work Positioned Systems, Ladders, Scaffolding, Safety Nets and rescue plans

  • General Responsibilities

  • Fall Hazards and Controls

  • Inspection of Equipment

  • Inspection of Work Places

  • Proper donning and fitting the harness, setting up travel restraint systems and setting up fall arrest systems
