The WHMIS 2015 legislation is currently in force, meaning that suppliers may begin to use the new requirements for labels and safety data sheets (SDSs) for hazardous products sold, distributed, or imported into Canada. However, there is a transition period with various stages.

The Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System 2015 (WHMIS) is Canada's national hazard communication standard. The key elements of the system are cautionary labeling of containers of WHMIS "controlled products", the provision of material safety data sheets (MSDSs), and worker education.
The goal of this course is to convey particulars about health hazards, requirements for worker protection, safe work procedures, inspection criteria used to identify and control worker exposure to hazardous materials in the workplace.
Hazard Assessment and Control is a half day course that includes the above-mentioned material as well as practical exercises requiring the completion of hazard assessments.
