This course will introduce those Alberta workforce members of a joint work site health and safety committee (HSC) or health and safety representatives (H&S reps) to the knowledge and tools required to conduct effective incident investigations and workplace inspections.
Course Outline
Upon successful completion of the this training program, you will be knowledgeable and demonstrate proficiency in the following topics:
Purpose and different types of workplace inspections.
Legal requirements for JHSC members with regard to conducting workplace inspections.
Recognize and address hazards in a variety of workplaces.
Incident Investigations and Reporting:
Purpose of investigating incidents.
Legal requirements for JHSC member involvement with regard to investigating incidents.
Identify appropriate content that should be included in incident investigation procedures.
Incident investigation best practices and how to implement in the workplace.
Conduct an incident investigation on a case study following the proper six-step procedures.
