Workplace Risk Assessment (Level 3 Award)

This qualification is those looking to develop the knowledge and skills to be able to undertake suitable and sufficient workplace risk assessments. Candidates will be assessed on completing a workplace risk assessment and reporting on their findings.

Under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations employers have a legal duty to make a suitable and sufficient assessment of risks to the health and safety of employees and all those who may be affected.  Employers are obliged to appoint a competent person to assist in meeting this legal requirement.

The Level 3 Award in Workplace Risk Assessment course has been designed for candidates with a responsibility to conduct and review risk assessments. It covers the principles of risk assessment, the relationship between hazard and risk and requires learners to carry out their knowledge learned on the course, by undertaking a risk assessment.

This course provides a thorough understanding of the main categories of accidents and ill health, their socio-economic costs and the benefits of good health and safety management.

The Level 3 Award in Workplace Risk Assessment course is particularly useful for managers and supervisors, but it will be equally beneficial to individual workers, team leaders, technicians or any other personnel contributing to the risk assessment process.

Risk assessment is an essential part of workplace safety. Suitable and sufficient risk assessments will aid legal compliance, but will also effectively reduce the risks to the health and safety of employees and others within a workplace.

Employers with five or more employees need to record the significant findings o the risk assessment.

This practical two-day course will be useful for anyone with a responsibility to conduct risk assessments in the workplace environments. This course aims to provide delegates with the understanding, knowledge and confidence to carry out initial risk assessments or review existing assessments.

This course ensures that all stages of risk assessment are covered, accompanied by examples of risk assessment procedures to aid delegate understanding.

This qualification is available to those over 16 years. Candidates should be at least a level 2 numeracy and literacy or equivalent.
