Course Objective:
A Workzone Traffic Management course that provides inexperienced participants that have no WZTM ticket or participants with an expired WZTM ticket with the skills and knowledge to correctly install signs at road works or when working on the road and to apply worker safety and maintain smooth traffic flow and maintenance.

Legislation and record keeping
Types of signs and devices
Selection of an appropriate traffic management scheme
Regulatory signs and devices and their uses
Assessment:
Theory & Practical Assessment
Course Prerequisites:
Ability to use and understand basic English
Ability to use and understand basic math
Participants must provide identification and be 16 years of age or over
Please Note:
This course is for inexperienced participants or participants with an expired WZTM ticket who must complete the 2 days to be competent.
Experienced/ticketed participants with an unexpired WZTM card that have current experience setting up workzones and managing traffic within the last 3 years participants can complete the 1 day refresher course.
This course needs to be completed every 3 years in accordance with the Department for Infrastructure & Transport(DIT) Workzone Traffic Management training program
Personal Protective Equipment to be worn e.g. Hard hat, safety footwear, high visibility vest/clothing
All students will need a Unique Student Identifier (USI) to receive their certificates and or cards.
The Construction Industry Training Centre Incorporated (CITC) was established in 1994 as a not-for-profit Registered Training Organisation (RTO Code 0647) to fill an educational training gap that then existed by providing upskilling of the traditional trades and non-trades employees in industry and those wishing to be engaged in industry.

With 10 full-time staff and over 25 trainers available, we specialise in areas as diverse as High Risk Work Licensing, Asbestos, Confined Space, Work Health and Safety (White Card to Certificate IV in WH&S), Plant Operation, Working at Heights, Workzone Traffic Management, 4WD training and many more. Training is delivered on clients’ sites or at our purpose built training centre in Regency Park which has 20 training rooms, a serviced canteen and with 7,500m2 under the main roof is considered one of the best training centres for our scope in Australia.
Our clients and participants come from a broad cross section of the community, whether they be corporate, sole traders, wage and salary earners, self-employed, unemployed and school leavers.

You must hold or be prepared to get a White Card – CPCWHS1001 Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry units of competency before you undertake any practical work
This unit develops a participant’s skills and knowledge required to implement a traffic management plan in Civil construction. This unit is appropriate for those working in supervisory roles. Licensing, legislative, regulatory and certification requirements that apply to this unit can vary
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to monitor and control traffic with portable traffic control devices and temporary traffic signs according to traffic management plans and traffic guidance schemes
This Traffic control course is specifically designed for those employees who are required to control traffic with stop-slow bat on any roads in Victoria as well as in the Construction Industries.
The Basic Worksite Traffic Management (BWTM) & Traffic Controller (TC) course is suitable for anyone required to work on, or near Western Australian roads, who are required to read, interpret, implement traffic management plans, handle and erect traffic management signs
