Translation and Singapore: The Big Idea

...is to bridge this tiny island to the world.

The idea of becoming an unusual translation company and a linguistic bridge was conceived in 2004.

It began with one person - a Singaporean who lived more than five years in Latin America and who, at that time, had taught, translated and proofread the Spanish language for eight years.

She is today a team of carefully selected professional native translators and interpreters to ensure quality translations and interpretations.

Our local web-designer cum consultant, Ai Gek, also deserves credit for tirelessly lending expertise and professional support, thus making this website a possibility.

Being in Singapore means that all translation projects will be co-ordinated from here. This also means that you can always count on our availability to discuss project matters, be updated on the progress, and for any other needs during your office hours.

How We Were Formed

...it was quite unusual.

We never imagined a mission trip to Chile in 1994 could lead to this. GOD equipped an ordinary Singaporean man for His work and then gave the idea of starting a company upon his return. HE is the rightful founder of the company.

Through a friend, the Singaporean attended a Latin Asia Business Forum organised jointly by Americas Society, the Council of the Americas and IE Singapore back in October 2003.

At the forum, the idea about being able to use the acquired Spanish language to help push the country forward sparked an interest in him.

Bridge SA was registered in 2004.

The first thing we did was to offer our translation skills.

We translated all kinds of documents at different levels of complexity and volume.

From a one-page certificate to a thousand-page manual, as long as we can help to facilitate that application, that trade, we did it and we strove to do it well.

We understood the importance of clear communication, which is why we only focus on languages that we know.

Language Lessons

to add wings to enthusiasts

The second most logical language-related service we offered was language lessons.

We started offering it because we knew we could do it well. We began with the Spanish language.

Our learners include people from 10-year-olds to 60-year-olds, and from all walks of life.

The reasons for learning the language were also varied. From mere interest, to travel, to work, everyone learned with a different motive.

Business Consultancy

to be the missing link

Now, having lived in Latin America for close to 10 years altogether, we not only know the language, we understand a bit of their culture as well.

Coupled with our own skills in Marketing and Business Development, we are able to help businesses make contact with Latin America and businesses with shoe-strapped budgets to develop, launch and grow their business.

Having started a business from scratch in 2004, we are particularly interested in helping tiny local start-ups in the above three mentioned areas.
