History

Imer is a Premium Institute in India to impart training which will adhere to Legislative requirements, meet National / International Standards and Guidance from Marine industry wherever applicable Imer is committed to imparting this training in a consistent manner aiming at the satisfacton of the trainees, meeting their needs and that of the seafarer’s employers.

Imer was dreamt initially by Capt. Prafulla Ranjan, duly supported by Capt. Sanjay Kishore & Mr. R. P. Singh and Capt. Salil K. Mishra who formed a Private limited Company named "Institute Of Marine Education And Research Pvt. Ltd." Which was later converted into a trust under Article 25 of Company Act. First Memorandum was Incorporated on 29th feb 2000.

Honorable Mr.R.G.Singh (Ex.Chief Surveyor) accepted the post of Principal to serve the Institute with his excellence in Knowledge & experience. The Institute progressed smoothly and no. of trainees increased rapidly.

The Institute was very well supported by seafarers all over ,but mainly from Bihar and therefore, we offer our gracious thanks to all seafarers from Bihar in bringing us to the level we are in today. Further to run the Institute smoothly & to maintain the quality of trainings, the Institute has a team of faculty and support staff, lead by the Vice Principal.

To look after quality related works, the Institute has a Management representative directly responsible to the Principal. All the partners worked as MR at some time or the other, begining with Capt Prafulla Ranjan, who worked very hard to implement quality system and other requirements of dg shipping and other bodies, as required.
