This course has been developed for multinational organisations in all sectors, mindful of international standards or directives and at the same time adaptive to local needs.
It seeks to provide an excellent underpinning knowledge of health and safety, as well as a sound basis for evaluating (and managing) potential hazards and risks.
The syllabus incorporates international, technical and other standards where they exist. In other cases, requirements and practices that represent 'good practice' are followed.
Process safety management (PSM) is a blend of engineering and management skills. It focuses on the prevention of catastrophic accidents and near misses associated with loss of containment of energy or dangerous substances such as chemicals and hydrocarbons.
It is designed with the aim to show how non-complex incidents can be investigated effectively and organisations can avoid similar incidents from re-occurring by learning from the lessons and implementing action plans to improve it.
The course is a professional qualification that allows individuals to gain a good grounding in the operational safety requirements in the oil and gas environment and satisfy employers that they have formal training and certification with in the area of employment.
It is intended for personnel who have held the Industrial Rope Access technician level two qualification for a minimum of 12 months and have at least 1000 on-rope hours logged as a level 2, and wish to proceed to level three.
This one-day qualification is a joint collaboration between NEBOSH and UK’s Health and Safety Regulator, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
