NUS College of Design and Engineering

Welcome to the College of Design and Engineering of the National University of Singapore. 

Established in 2022, CDE is a fusion of two world-class schools with long, distinguished histories – the Faculty of Engineering and the School of Design and Environment.  

The goals of CDE are to nurture students into agile, future-ready talents and attain global leadership in research, innovation, and enterprise across multiple disciplines. We offer our students distinctive disciplinary specialisations and interdisciplinary training experiences and equip them with skill sets and competencies to prepare for a complex and turbulent working environment. 

CDE embraces a vibrant student community, providing access to resources, extracurriculars, and events that enrich the university experience.

Students can gain invaluable professional experience and insights by engaging with industries, which helps prepare them for their future careers. CDE student life also includes mental health resources such as support services, peer groups, and workshops that promote students’ well-being. 

CDE is also home to multi-disciplinary research platforms where our research capabilities cut across Engineering, Architecture and Design that bring together exemplary faculty to drive cutting-edge research.

We continue to expand our research focus into frontiers where design, technology, and human factors meet, and multidisciplinary collaboration is enhanced.
