The OETIO provides training from two primary campuses in Ontario. The Morrisburg campus, in eastern Ontario, delivers heavy equipment operator training and also serves as the design, development and administrative center of the OETIO.
The Oakville campus, a new modern facility co-located with the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 793 headquarters (IUOE), opened in January of 2006 as the center for crane operator training. Both campuses also provide a wide range of construction safety courses in support of industry requirements.
The track excavator digs, excavates material in large volumes, and loads material. The excavator is a highly versatile productive piece of equipment used in the construction, mining and forestry sectors.
This course is 5 days for students who wish to operate a basic 0-8 ton mobile crane and is in accordance with Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development (MAESD) (Program P930030) pre-requisite requirements.
Upon successful completion of the E-Learning module the participant must book their 2 hour Instructor Led practical training at one of the OETIO campuses.Â
This is a course designed to provide the information and hands-on practice necessary for construction workers to be able to safely connect, activate and disconnect heaters, torches, and propane-powered equipment of less than 400,000 Btu/h in accordance with Technical Standards and Safety Authority
The objective of this course is to enable worker to recognize fall hazards and identify and apply fall protection controls, including fall prevention and fall arrest.
