The Queensland Badminton Association was proudly established on January 14th, 1950 as the states governing body for badminton. We are a not-for profit organization whose primary purpose is to conduct and develop badminton throughout Queensland in partnership with its Member Associations.

Where to play

Currently over 1250 members engaged in QBA activities such as: school partipation programs, tournaments, coaching clinics, and junior camps. Our vision is to remain committed to the highest standards for the conduct and development of Queensland Badminton focusing on regional areas.

Board of Directors

The QBA Board of Directors a group of dedicated volunteers vested with responsibility for the management of the organization. Board members are elected by the affiliates at our annual AGM.

QBA Community Objectives

The QBA is committed to the growth, participation and interest in Queensland Badminton through a range of strong participation and development programs.

Benefits for QBA members:

  • Coaches experience increased satisfaction as they will possess the knowledge and ability to help youths achieve maximum potential.
  • Elite junior athletes will feel increased self confidence and achieve better results as they learn advanced skills and techniques.
  • Highly trained coaches will benefit all QBA junior members who participate in local club activities.
  • Enhancing the skills of coaches and elite athletes will improve all members through local and state-wide tournaments, fixtures and social nights.
  • Coaching clinics will increase the pool of qualified coaches thereby ensuring that all state and regional teams can improve.

Benefits for the Community

It is well noted that community members take pride in seeing local athletes shine. The QBA desires to provide the opportunity for local badminton players and coaches to improve and excel at a national level. In doing so, it provides the means that allows the community to both identify and support their athletes. This will contribute to an enhanced collective image and positive outlook for local citizens. In that sense, every community member has the opportunity to benefit from those athletes who represent their suburb, city and state.

The QBA delivers badminton to the community through:

  • School HPE classes (grade 4 to 10)
  • Regional sport education tours
  • Local camps and clubs
