The Trust was established on the 30th of March 1984.The Trust was established for the propagation of Montessori philosophy using the Montessori method of child development and education for life without prejudice to general education in what is internationally known as Montessori Education by establishing Montessori teacher training organizations, development of equipment and support of schools and other education and research institutions and collaboration with Indian or foreign organizations.Provided always that the beneficiaries of the Trust hereby created shall not be restricted to any community or caste or creed but the Trust shall be for the benefit of the public generally.
Aims & Objectives
To make regular AMI training available to teachers.
To disseminate the method of learning to as many children as possible across the globe.
Supporting AMI in providing trainers.
Teacher training at all levels Infancy (0-3), Primary (3-6), Elementary (6-12), Erd Kinder (12-18), initially using the good offices of International
Trainers and gradually shifting to National Trainers as they become available.
Supporting the establishment of schools based on the Montessori method.
The grid of Montessori Schools should be available to as many children as possible.
Providing a hub for continuing education in conformation with AMI regulations.
Reach out to deserving children by partnering with the government in providing childhood education and care based on Montessori principles.
Support the Montessori Community in creating awareness and togetherness.
Historical Precursors
Prior to the establishment of the MTRT ,the working Committee of the AMI was set up in Hyderabad in 1951 by Mr Joosten who was AMI’s representative in India. The Affiliated Montessori Society (AMS)was formed in 1978. The Hyderabad working Committee was the executive committee of the AMS. Four members of the working Committee became members of the MTRT. The MTRT was created to establish a permanent AMI training centre in Hyderabad.
Upon completion of the course requirements the students are awarded an International Diploma that enables them to work with children between the ages of 3 to 6 years.
