Well Control Group was founded in 2008 in Alberta, Canada. As an IWCF and IADC accredited facility, we provide drilling and completion training to hundreds of oilfield workers in addition to offering tailored programs, blow-out recovery, and kick control to oil companies globally.

In 2014, we opened our doors in Eastern Canada and expanded our services to include also safety courses.  In 2018 we opened a new division with the goal of providing automation and unique technology solutions to drilling operators worldwide.

Since its inception, Well Control Group aimed to take well control training to a higher level of competency, becoming one of the only three accredited school offering the IADC WellCAP Plus program.

Our team of expert engineers has responded to well control incidents providing remote assistance and direct field support during dangerous and complex drilling operations in Canada and globally.
