18 Reasons offers three food education programs. At our 18th Street Kitchen in San Francisco, we host paid cooking classes with chefs from around the world, and ticket sales help support our free programming for low-income families.
Through our free Cooking Matters and Nourishing Pregnancy programs for low-income families, we offer grocery donations, cooking and nutrition classes, and peer support. Our vision is to create equity and belonging through the transformative and healing power of home cooking.

In this hands-on class, our head chef will guide you through the proper techniques for making an exquisite pizza from scratch here in our commercial kitchen with top-of-the-line pizza ovens.
Pizza Making Class is offered by Kids Who Cook. In all classes, everything is very hands-on and everybody gets a chance to do a little of everything. The children are taught how to clean up and then everyone sits to eat what was made. Lets make our own dough, learn how yeast works.Â
Join an ICE chef for this delightful class on all things pizza. Together, couples will learn to make a quick-rise pizza dough to be topped with a variety of culinary creations: sauce and cheese will meet veggies, mushrooms, cured and fresh-cooked meats --- even sweet options for dessert pizza.
You will create memories, edible art and delicious goodies with your loved ones during in-person workshop with our Professional Chef Instructor. Ask questions, learn techniques and work with new flavors. Spend time together while making them comfortable with a life skill early on!
