A great choice for the 6-10 year old who may have already mastered ukulele/piano, or simply has some understanding of musical concepts!
This instrument is bigger in size and requires more hand-eye coordination and finger strength than the ukulele.
Children will have fun learning songs of their interest, whether it be traditional sing-a-longs, The Beatles, or Taylor Swift (reading tablature) start to finish using chords, single note melodies, and basic rhythms.
This program is made for every child, and is customized for each learning style. The philosophy of our teaching method is an emphasis on quality over pace, and connectivity over deadlines.
It is very important to us that each lesson caters directly to each individual student, and that their goals and interests are met. Using a "follow the child" approach, and adapting each lesson to the needs of each child ensures a solid foundation and love of music for your Little Treblemaker.
The ukulele is a great instrument for kids and adults to learn. They are affordably priced and easier for kids to play than a guitar, so ukulele lessons are a great way to get started before taking guitar lessons
The curriculum of the ukulele is much like the guitar’s: all students learn chords and chord symbols, strumming, fingerstyle, scales and technique, singing and playing, and improvisation
We offer ukulele instruction either on its own for 30 minutes a week or as part of a Sing & Strum curriculum in 45- or 60-minute lessons, which can also be taken with a friend or family member.
A Ukulele Lesson at Cedarstone School of Music is tailored to each individual student’s needs and wants.Â
Children will be introduced to ukulele playing in a peer setting with an enthusiastic teacher
