Syllabus:
Intro To Bookkeeping
This unit will help you understand how to set up and use bookkeeping systems to keep track of customer and supplier transactions. You will learn how to process receipts and payments, and how to record transactions into ledger accounts.

Principles of Bookkeeping Controls
This module builds on the knowledge and abilities acquired from studying Introduction to Bookkeeping and explores control accounts, journals and reconciliations. Students will cultivate the ability to develop the value added tax (VAT) control accounts in addition to the receivables and payables ledger reports. They'll use the journal to record a assortment of transactions, including the discipline errors. Pupils will be able to redraft the primary trial balance, following adjustments.

Principles of Costing
This unit introduces students to the basic principles of costing and builds a solid foundation of knowledge and skills required for more complex costing and management accounting tasks. Students learn the importance of cost accounting systems as a source of information to assist management planning, decision making and cost management.

The Business Enviornment
This unit provides students with knowledge and understanding of key business concepts and their practical applications in the external and internal environments in which they work.
Students will understand the legal system, principles of contract law and understand the legal implications and consequences of setting up a business. This section also provides insight into how organisations are structured and where the finance function fits.

Understand the principles of contract law.

Understand the key principles of corporate social responsibility (CSR), ethics and sustainability.

How Long Does It Take?
The qualification usually takes around one year to complete, but this will depend on the learner's current ability and study recourse. It may be possible to complete it in as little as six months
Entry Requirements:
Students are not required to have any qualifications before starting the course. However, a good grasp of English & Maths is recommended for the best chance of success.
If you struggle with either of subjects, consider taking our Functional Maths & Functional English courses. If you already have experience with Accounting consider taking some of our other AAT Accounting Courses.
