Course Details

AcroDance is a combo of Dance and Gymnastics. Designed to add flare to dancers choreographed routines. These classes focus on buliding the correct technique and strength for gynmastics “tricks” and dancers will improve on flexibility and confidence. Open to both male and female dancers from 8 years.

AMJAZZ Dance Studios is a family owned business. Nikki Wilkinson is the Director and Principal teacher at the studios and Pam Shanks, Nikki’s Mum is also a technical Teacher and Choreographer.

Sandra is our Administrator in the Office and we have a staff of 7 Teachers/Assistants that work part-time and all offer a wealth of experience from their years of dancing and teaching.

AMJAZZ Dance Studios is a technical training dance school which offers specialized and structured dance classes, providing each dancer with solid training in both technique and performance. In each of our genres, students are encouraged to achieve, and grow as a dancer and an artist.

Teacher's Experience
Tamzin has been dancing with AMJAZZ since 2012. She is trained in Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Tap and Aerial Body Conditioning. Tamzin has completed her teacher training and has successfully entered dancers into dance exams and production work for both Contemporary and AcroDance. Tamzin’s talent and dedication leads her to Honours/Distinction exam marks in all genres. In 2017 and 2019 Tamzin was awarded the top mark in Asia/Pacific for her APDA Contemporary examinations and in 2018 and 2019 she was again awarded a Top Tier award in Asia/Pacific for her APDA Contemporary examinations and ADPA Hip Hop examinations. Tamzin is a active member of our AMJAZZ Creative group, performing outside of the studio for both corporate and community events. Tamzin was a competitive gymnast for five years, and was third in NZ for trampolining in 2009.
