Girls must wear a tight fitting leotard & bike shorts (red and black or studio uniform is preferred) & have hair tied back securely every class. Shoes must have rubbers (Pumps preferred) Younger students may have bare feet to start with.
All That Jazz Dance Studio was established in January 1993. They are still located in the same building but now occupy all of level 1. The studio has one of Perth’s finest reputations and is well known for being a quality run dance studio.
Studio owner and Principal Fiona Scott has enjoyed teaching all styles of dance for over 26 years. Fiona started dancing at age 5 where she studied ballet, jazz, theatrical and tapping. She now enjoys passing on her knowledge, experience and the love of dance to students of all ages. Fiona has been actively involved in local Theatre productions as well including performing in and choreographing shows like Chicago, Cats, Cabaret, 42nd Street and Annie.
Fiona is now the new WAAPA Musical Theatre Tap Lecturer and is enjoying teaching Levels 2, 3 and 4 for the Musical Theatre BA course at WAAPA. Exciting news also, Fiona is now a Tapatak Oz Examiner in Australia and hope s to enjoy passing on her knowledge of tap dance in the community. Fiona is also travelling to New York in 2019 to complete the American Tap Dance Teachers Training Course.
The studio originally started with a group of Adults learning to tap dance at the local hall in Wanneroo from 1988 – 1992 (Known as the Wanneroo Tappers). This was so popular that the studio was then opened in 1993 to cater for Children as young as 2yrs through to Adults.
The studio is actively involved in all local dance competitions. The studio provides open classes in all ages and dance styles and teaches the CSTD syllabus for examinations (Commonwealth Society of teachers of Dance). All That Jazz also offers floorshow performances throughout the year and has regular trips to Sydney to learn from Australia’s top Choreographers and teachers.
Acro dance is a style of dance that combines classical dance technique with precision acrobatic elements. Dancers will develop co-ordination, flexibility, strength.
This class will focus on fundamental acrobatic technique, teaching such skills as handstands, chin stands, elbow stands, cartwheels, back bends, walkovers, balance and contortion tricks, flipping, back handsprings and other acrobtic skills used in dance all to each student's individual level of exp...
Chair dance is an acro dance style combining dance movements with acrobatic elements. In this variation of acro dance a chair is incorporated as an assisting prop and as a dance partner. Building upon simple acrobatic moves this dance style will build strength and control in your body and core.
These classes are beneficial for cheerleaders, gymnasts and dancers as they help to improve strength, flexibility, balance, posture, as well as acrobatic ability. Each student works at their own pace in a safe and supportive environment.
Our Acrobatic Students enjoy learning tumbles, cartwheels, handstands, balances and stability incorporating elements of basic flips.
