Our Acro classes follow the Acrobatic Arts Syllabus, whose program is based on safe and effective progress.

Acrobatic Dance, or Acro as it is known by dancers, is the fusion of dance technique with the precision and athleticism of acrobatic elements, such as balancing, limbering, tumbling and partnering based on flexibility, contortion and strength.

Acro has fast gained popularity from productions such as Cirque de Soleil and TV shows such as So You Think You Can Dance and Dance Moms, which has shown a mix of contemporary dancing and acrobatic skills.

  • Amanda is currently in her final year of her Bachelor of Music Theatre at Federation University’s Arts Academy. Whilst studying there, she has been extensively trained in jazz, tap and ballet from some of the industry’s leading professionals. Outside of university, Amanda has also performed in many local theatre productions in Geelong. Her recent credits include Mamma Mia, Les Miserables, Beauty and the Beast, Heathers, Wicked, Mary Poppins and Legally Blonde. Other teaching experience includes being a student teacher at the Geelong Academy of Performing Arts for four years helping with the tinies and sub junior theatrical classes. Amanda has a strong passion for solid ballet technique as she herself spent much of her time dancing in ballet classes. She was trained in the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus and encourages all of her students to give ballet a go as it can help with every other style of dance. She has also been trained in other styles of dance such as contemporary, lyrical, acrobatics and partnering/pas de deux. Amanda currently teaches our Saturday Armstrong Creek classes and she loves seeing all of her students smiling faces each week.
